Help! I think my 18 mo got the chickenpox from a shot!

He got his 12 mo shots on August 26th. He had a low grade fever and thre upa few times on Weds. Last night we noticed a rash. He hasn't had a fever since Weds, and now he has a rash that looks like chickenpox.

Any help? He's sleeping now, or I would post pics...But I will definitely do it later.

my oldest got a fever that WOULDN"T break from the chicken pox vax. we took her to the ER for dehydration.. 2 days later the fever was gone and the spots started- she was itchy and cranky but ok, baby tylenol or motrin and oatmeal baths and aveno anti itch cream saved us from scars from them (I have scars from them- I had them more than once) be sure when they try to give the booster that you tell them he had a reaction and they will NOT give it- if he has a reaction to it and/or gets the spots he no longer needs it- I opted out on that shot for my other girls figuring they would get it or get sick from the shot anyway. good luck!

I would call your dr when you get a chance and let them know what happened. Just do the things this poster said and he should be okay mama. Sorry you little guy is sick.

oh and LOTS of fluids.. when she was getting cranky we made a game of connect the dots with washable markers.. it was fun for her to see the crazy picture on her belly in the mirror.. if you know any mamas that are waiting to let their kids get the chicken pox now is the time for a playdate sorry he is sick.
