Where does the bleach go? How much?

I'm going to occasionally put in some bleach to help with bacteria and stuff but don't remember if it goes in the wash cycle or cold rinse cycle. How much do I use for a small newborn load?

If your machine doesn't have a bleach dispenser, add it to the wash cycle, preferably before adding clothes. You can use up to 1/4 cup.
