Re: What age do you stop using an infant swing?
INFANT hahaha...TRY TODDLER! My son was addicted to the swing..(more of the sensory integration swinging sooths him) so he was in a swing even slept in the swing most of the time from brith to 21 months!! he was able to turn it on climb in strap himself in put the tray down and have a swing! haha...but this also led to trips to the park where he fell asleep on the swings there hahaha...I say if your child isn't too fond of it and doesn't get very much enjoyment its a huge item if you don't need it let it be sold..but if he is soothed by it and it does allow you to get thigns done with him in it I say keep it around...

Re: What age do you stop using an infant swing?
My boy is turning 6 months tomorrow.
Yesterday, as I was on the computer and he was relaxing in his swing ... I had a look at him and he was ... Suspended by the straps, his head on the floor . He had leaned toward the front far enough to fall ! I picked him up and he was smiling like crazy ! The first thing he tried to do was to repeat the experience again ! lol . I think we`re done with the swing. |

Re: What age do you stop using an infant swing?
I don't use the swing past like maybe 2 months as I want to encourage floor time.

Re: What age do you stop using an infant swing?
We stopped using a swing when ds was about 3 months old
my ds much preferred to be worn in a sling or a wrap....so we just gave our swing away. Good luck with your garage sale!

Re: What age do you stop using an infant swing?
My daughter is 9 months and still likes it for a short period during the day. That's my cleaning time
She really started using it less around 7 months.

Re: What age do you stop using an infant swing?
My dd LOVED her Oceans wonders cradle swing. She lived in that thing. Hers swung side to side and the only bar was way above her head so she dcouldnt reach it. Her swing goes up to 22 pounds so technically she could still use it. We used it up till a year then we never used it. She had to sleep in it sometimes when she wouldnt sleep any other way.

Re: What age do you stop using an infant swing?
DD loved her swing up until she was about 6 months old and then would have nothing to do with it.

Re: What age do you stop using an infant swing?
My son is 6 months and he still loves his swing. I don't put him in there as often as before because he loves his Jump&Go doorway jumper or to play on the floor, but he doesn't grab the bars yet. My twins started doing that around 8 mos. or so... as long as they don't exceed the weight limit and enjoy the swing I don't see a reason to stop using it for reasonable amounts of time obviously. It puts my DS right to sleep! I love it! hehehe
