Oh this is my second kid...I never NIP'd in public with my first... I was too "embarrassed" or whatever... always went to the car or left the room. The only time I ever did was on an airplane...
Anyway, you can do it... but I know how you feel... I'm sure I"ll be nervous next time too but at least I did it.
I mean there were not a ton of people around or anything but it wasn't the car or my house so... you can do it... !

Way to go Rachel. Actually, you'll notice that very few people around you will notice. With my dc, I noticed (and I've heard other mamas say this too) that the main group who notices are older ladies who just have this sweet smile on their faces as though they're reminiscing about feeding their babies all those years ago.

Yea, Rach!!! Next thing you know you'll be nursing while ordering at Outback or on the bench at the zoo, like me!!!! It only gets easier from here!

As for nursing a second child in public, the amusing part for me is I actually nursed my DS less in public then my DD... Not from my choice though...

He just would not nurse if we were out for a long time. What a pain that was! I was actually reduced to bringing a bottle of expressed BM with me for a couple of months. He is a lot better now, though. At Disney, though (DS was five months old), I did make good use of the breastfeeding rooms since DS was still being difficult about nursing while out.
