Re: Manilla Envelopes to ship packages~ NOT Allowed
I "mummify" them which makes them just as sturdy as a polymailer, really. You have to leave a bit of room at the top for cutting into the package without cutting the items inside, but not over stuffing these things seems pretty obvious. I have gotten empty manilla envelopes in the past, but both times it was because the sender closed it with the metal brad and that was ALL. No tape whatsoever.
Its a shame when we have to have rules like this because people can't use a little common sense in shipping.

Re: Manilla Envelopes to ship packages~ NOT Allowed
I'm sorry, but I don't understand how using a manilla envelope is guaranteeing an item to be lost and/or damaged, and if it is then the seller is responsible. Aren't we already responsible as sellers regardless of how we package something?

This apply's for ALL transactions that take place here on DS, F/S/O/T & Wares. How you ship your own personal packages from stores/sites outside of DS oviously are not in our control.

Bump
I'm a big fan of turning food boxes inside out and using lots of packing tape

Re: Manilla Envelopes to ship packages~ NOT Allowed
i'm another one who goes WAY overboard on the tape alot of times but i reuse the poly mailers that i recieve stuff in if i at all can... i always cut open the end if i think the mailer might be reusable and then when i put a label on it to send it on to the next person i put my label over the one that they put on there... i have actually used poly mailers that have been reused 2-3x already and since they dont have any tears or stretch marks i didnt figure it would be any less safe than if i put the items (which i usually wrap in a grocery sack or something before putting in) into a new poly bag.

Re: Manilla Envelopes to ship packages~ NOT Allowed
i also use manilla (or white) mailers with tape all around, i can pack a lot into them and have them super secure with tape...i wonder if shipping with tape is not allowed as well?
