How many weeks would you be willing to go "overdue" before being induced?
I have a Dr. appt on Tues. and she wants to talk induction at that time. I will be 40w1d by that time. I was induced with my last dd at 40w2d and I regret it. OTOH, I don't want anything bad to happen to this baby if I wait too long to be induced.

I wouldn't go over 40 weeks, but I am older and have certain risks.

my midwives said anywheres from 38-42wks is normal gestation. so i personally wouldnt go for an induction before 42weeks. but like pp nst's are probably a good idea.

Re: How many weeks would you be willing to go "overdue" before being induced?
I would go to 42 because I'm using a birth center. I would probably want to have an u/s or NSts just to check on the baby for my own peace of mind. But I would rather go overdue than have to go to the hospital and be induced.

Re: How many weeks would you be willing to go "overdue" before being induced?
Honestly it would depend on the baby, and how I'm doing. I'm all for letting the baby come on their own time, but when I'm crying and would rather die than be pregnant one more minute after the due date has passed I'd be doing everything I can to speed up the process. That being said, I'd be hard pressed to induce unless it was past 42 weeks just simply because inducing is SO much worse and harder on the body than going into labor on your own. But every baby is different. I know some of my friends whose pregnant with their third child and the first two had to be coaxed out of the womb after 42 weeks AND inducing happened.
Some babies love it in there too much

And I do want to mention, Albert Einstein was 48 weeks when he was delivered!

I would wait until 42 weeks. My son was born at 41 weeks on the button!
