Re: How many weeks would you be willing to go "overdue" before being induced?
42 weeks for me too.. I'd probably want some extra monitoring the last couple days.

42 weeks here, but I would want NSTs and close monitoring for at least the last week.

Re: How many weeks would you be willing to go "overdue" before being induced?
I would not let anyone touch me before 42 weeks. I would however, start trying to naturally induce after 40 to avoid medical induction.

Re: How many weeks would you be willing to go "overdue" before being induced?
I would normally want to wait it out, 41wks +/- a couple days or so with additional monitoring. But unfortunatly I almost died of PP heart failure after #3, who was only 3 days overdue, so my OBs have never wanted to risk going past 39wks since I really was never supposed to get pregnant again! I wouldn't feel right risking it for my own selfish reasons and end up dying when I narrowly escaped dying last time. It just wouldn't be right. If I didn't have any complications and baby was doing well and not estimated to be 13lbs I would let myself go to about 41wks before inducing. Unless you're a FTM, a post-date induction isn't nearly as bad. I was induced at 39wks with #4 and it was easy peasy. My 40+wk induction was even easier. I imagine it wouldn't take much to induce a 2nd+ time mom at 41+wks.

If I was confident of the dates I'd go to 42 weeks - I'd do NST and whatnot as recommended.

Re: How many weeks would you be willing to go "overdue" before being induced?
I - personally - would go until at least 43 weeks because that is technically only 1 week past typical gestation period.

Re: How many weeks would you be willing to go "overdue" before being induced?
I would go 42 at least. My son was born the day after 42 weeks. This time around I would ask for the monitoring. They didn't do any last time.

42 weeks is my max. After 40 weeks, I get really anxious and try the natural methods.
