Re: Happy 1st Birthday JuneBugs!!

Elena - that is just crazy in my opinion, not letting children come to a wedding. My wedding was CRAWLING with children - in fact I think I paid more money feeding the children then I did the adults, and I only knew 4 of the kids - the rest were people neither Brian or I really had a relationship with - they just went to his church...so on one hand I can see their aggravation, but on the other they sent out the invites so they should suck it up and deal.

Tam - I'm sorry. I don't even know what to tell you -it can be so frustrating in that kind of situation, and your DH is missing out, if he doesn't create relationships with his kiddos now he won't be able to re-establish them and will miss out in the future. My dad was too busy working for most of my childhood - when he started having time for his kids I was already a teenager----too late by then.

Jul - The picture of K are so precious!

Mer - Unfortunately it looks like neither of us will go. DH didn't seem keen on going without me, and I don't see it working to leave Levi, along with the older 3, with a 17yr old baby-sitter for that long. Especially with supper and bedtime in there.
I just wish they'd been upfront and said it on the invite, then I wouldn't have bothered RSVP'ing with yes at all.

AFM: One year ago today was Nudge's EDD... and I was left feeling like he'd never come

Oh That's too bad. I agree I don't see a 17 year old being able to handle that and with Levi being so young - I haven't left Henna with a baby sitter yet, and Zaylee hasn't been babysat since I HAD Henna. I agree they should have been up front in the invite...but I also think they are being a little ridiculous expecting people to come without kids. Although I guess one of my friends did that for her wedding - the invite was for me and Brian and said we have reserved 2 seats for you.

I have my first doctor appointment Monday....I foresee disaster...a 3 year old and a 1 year old while mommy gets an internal and pap smear done - what are the chances of this working out? lol

I don't think many of their friends have kids yet, and none of their "immediate family" that I know of. I'm just kinda feeling like - why did you even bother inviting us - kwim?
Our baby-sitter is amazing with the kids, and I have no worries leaving her with the 3 older ones, and even all 4 when Levi is, like, 2. But with him so clingy and dependent... I mean there are days when we don't even manage to get supper made and the kids to bed a decent time, let alone a baby-sitter he's never been left with.

picturing your appt! FWIW, you don't need to get an internal and pap done. Just say no thanks! (that's what I do!)

Re: Happy 1st Birthday JuneBugs!!

mer, what elena said about refusing those things!

elena I don't go to any weddings that say no kids, on principal, lol. But since theirs didn't say it, I don't think I would have even thought to mention Levi. The baby is such a part of me, I don't think about mentioning them as a separate person, hee hee

Tam, sorry about your DH. Mine wouldn't work at all if he didn't have to . It sounds as though he would busy himself if he didn't "have" to work anyway

Ooo, good point! I have no clue what they would have done if we'd just showed up with Levi - sent us home?
Blah. I'm still too angry/hurt to write an email that doesn't come across either as snarky or sobby, kwim? I'll get to it this weekend sometime.
If only Levi was a little older, not nursing, not so needing me for bedtime... it would work. But he isn't, he is, and he does, lol. Heck, I'm planning to fly to my university best friend's wedding in Sept, only for one night, and I'm expecting to take Levi with me - and leaving him here would only be with DH!

I'll figure out some way to say something like that... and I suppose it wouldn't really come across as snarky in email, just words... but I would know that I was feeling snarky/pissy/etc while writing it. Yes, I know that's silly.

AFM: It was a really good day here! Weather was pretty nice - t shirt weather, warm in the sun. I made pancakes and scrambled eggs for breakfast (for Isaac, he's been asking me for pancakes all week). The kids had friends over. We spent the whole afternoon outside, filled Isaac's bird feeder, watered our flowers, just hung out out there. And had :yum: bbq'ed burgers and sweet potato fries for supper.

Simple things, I know.

Re: Happy 1st Birthday JuneBugs!!

*crickets*
I know y'all are chatting on FB though I'll get around to figuring it out this summer, I promise. I've finished one baby gift for a friend (well, my part of it) and I've got to get family pictures caught up and another baby gift made (SIL due with a girl! in Aug)... then I'll feel like I have some time to sit and figure things out with an Etsy shop (? or should I attempt Hyena Cart?) and FB.

Anyhoo, cuz I have nowhere else to post...
I think I'm going to make a dog cake for Levi's birthday. I need to look up some photos online to get an idea, then get it started in the next couple days. He loves dogs - well, all animals, but dogs especially. He pants like our dog and knows what a dog says "oooo" like a howl/growl (our dog "talks" to us, not barking, and not growling mean at us)
He even saw a Ty stuffed dog in the mall last weekend and said "OOOO!!!". When DH gave it to him he hugged it really close and started petting it
We left with that dog, lol. We'll count it as an early b-day gift!

We've had some continuing odd weather here - it was really warm and sunny for Sunday and Monday, stormed (thunder and lightening) honestly all day Tuesday, cloudy and a tad chilly yesterday, now it's looking like today will be all right. Still not quite sure what to dress the older 2 in for all day at school!
I'm feeling better, getting out every day when it's not raining/storming. Even if it's just for dead-heading my hanging baskets and getting flowers watered. At least it's something.

I had a stupid, strange AF. Boo. I hate my body and it's weird cycles/AFs. After Isaac was born I was on BCP until he was 2 - during that time I had 28d cycles, 7d AF. Fine. That's what I'd always had before TTC and between the other pregnancies.
But after I went off the pills I ended up with 25d cycles, 10-11d AFs. It was depressing to be bleeding so much and knowing that I'd only have a 2wk break before beginning again.
I was hoping that this time my body would settle into a good cycle. The first ppAF was 2d spotting then 6d AF - not too bad and I can handle that, lol. But then I had either a 26 or 28d cycle (do I count it from the spotting or real AF starting?) 5d heavy AF, 1d really light like looked like it was stopping, 1d spotting, back heavy for 2d and then spotting for another 2d. So...11d so far including the spotting. And that was just yesterday so I'm waiting to see if there's more today.
I hate these long AFs. I could handle the shorter cycles if only I could have normal AFs. Blech. So draining.
Hmm... could lower platelets or iron contribute to that I wonder?

OMGoodness can't believe I forgot! Levi started really walking yesterday!!
He's been taking a few steps for about a month and a half, adding a step or 2 every couple weeks, but yesterday he was walking all over the living room, squatting to pick up things, changing direction and everything! Definitely officially "walking".

That's the most important change with him, though there's lots of little things - like climbing everywhere . Monkey.
But I gotta go get the kids breakfast and ready for school!
