New pics added. getting ready to buy all the stuff for the kitchenthis week. Hope that we can install cabinets soon! (like before November) The bedrooms upstairs have finished ceilings. All they need is a few coats of paint, some trim, and carpet. downstairs is almost all drywalled, but not all mudded yet. The tub is in the main bath. We added a partial wall in the living room to create a more formal entry and to give some separation from the doorway. plus it gives us more wall space for furniture instead of floating it.

thanks. yes! the yard is great! Not much in the front, but we plan on adding several raised beds next yr, a garage, some fruit trees, a deck off the back of the house.

Oh- My MIL's neighbors just replaced their windows, so we are trying to get them to give us their old ones, b/c they are louvered, perfect for our sunroom! and free... fx.

And old windows are excellent cold frames on raised beds in the garden.

Our trip to HD went well! Got all the cabinets, the black paint, a water tank, and a bunch of misc stuff. So excited that it's all coming together! after pricing out the other finishes, we realized that it was cheaper to continue the real wood floors into the kitchen. We have to sand and refinish the floors in the other rooms anyways so it won't be a big deal to stain the kitchen too. I am so happy about that! Then we were told the laminate countertop we wanted (could afford) would have to be special ordered b/c of the size... uh, no thanks. LSS- going with granite tiles that are cheaper by the ft than the laminate! It's a creamy color with browns and black in it. Instead of subway tiles we found some 8x10 tiles in a creamy color for the backsplash and a creamy white paint to keep the room from being too dark. Already have the ceiling fan and light for over the sink. It's all being delivered in the next week or so.
Today dh and BIL are going to redo the laundry room. Tear out the windows, insulate and maybe get drywall up too. Still have to buy some linoleum for that area, the sunroom and the conecting hallway. Money is getting super tight at this point, but we are about done buying big ticket items.

hardwoods are installed in kitchen! Got all the cabinets painted, just need to finish the doors/drawer fronts. Uppers are installed. Going to get the base cabinets installed today, I think. We got lucky and one of MIL's neighbors was replacing her window's a few weeks ago. So we went over and asked if we could have the old ones.we pd for them in the end but we got 9 for$100. they went into the sunroom and one will go into the landry rm. otherwise we wouldn't be able to afford windows right now. uploaded more pics!
