Lactating already?

Is this OK? To be producing some milk at 30 weeks?

Yup. With DS1, I started leaking around 28 weeks. It was a little earlier with DS2... 25 weeks maybe? Can't remember exactly. But with both of them, I would leak anytime I heard a baby cry, which I thought only happened in movies, LOL!

Thanks. could be my other thread causing it too. (Just kidding!)

I was a late bloomer with DD1 so this was shocking to me this evening. Of course its only leaking out of my "producer" boob and my other one is still a dud.

I would recommend wearing some nursing pads. Nothing sucks more than leaking in the middle of the grocery store, with nothing to stop that big, ugly stain on your shirt, right where your nipples are.

Re: Lactating already?

Yes, very normal!

Although I didn't start producing till a couple of days before DD was born... my sisters both lactated at very inconvenient moments during their pregnancies. It always was in public.

I started lactating at like 17 weeks with DD, and freaked out. It's not terribly common, but it's not an indicator of any problems.

I got colostrum with DD around 15 or 20w, I can't remember which. This time I'm not getting as much, but I do get a little on occasion.

Oh my gosh, I leaked horribly with my oldest starting abt 28 weeks. I used to sleep in just in my panties (too hot even with the windows open in a German winter) and I would soak the sheets & my husband would wake up all wet. He was less than impressed. I did not have that problem with YDS though. I hope I don't this time around either. Good luck.
