Hygeia/Flanges Help
I got my Hygeia pump in the mail last week. Of course the flanges that come with it aren't removeable like a Medela one is; this one is attached to the duckbill (I think I have the part names correct). And it's too big for me. I had fully intended on using my soft medela flanges as they fit me, but now I don't know what to do besides return the pump.
I need a 24mm as a 27 sucks half my areola into it. But, looking at the Hygeia website, their medium says 24-27, large 27-30, etc. I received a 27, so not sure if that's a small or a medium... Is my only cure to return the pump and get something else?

I don't know about that pump, but my ameda had insert you could put in the regular flanges to make them smaller. Does the website have something like that?

No, I wish! I didn't even know there was such a thing. I did search hoping they made something similar.

I wonder if the ameda one would fit? It says it fits in a 25mm flange.
I can't believe 24 is there smallest size. I use the medela 21mm and I use to use the ameda 21mm. Can you call CS and ask them which size you got?

Re: Hygeia/Flanges Help
I know I got the 27 as they say it's standard size, and I have a 24 from medela and it won't fit inside : ( Poo. I was just concerned that if I ordered their 24-27 that it would actually be another 27, and a waste of $20+.

Re: Hygeia/Flanges Help
Hygeia tubes should fit right into your Medela breast shield connectors.

Re: Hygeia/Flanges Help
Oh, bummer! Well you can pick them up for cheap, I think Target may even carry them. I much prefer the Medela breastshields and use them with my Hygeia pump. It works out great!

Re: Hygeia/Flanges Help
The flange that comes with the Hygeia Pump is a medium. Their descriptions on the site are misleading, so I called. I needed to order a large. I didn't realize that Medela was compatible, or I wouldn't have ordered the Hygeia flanges. The Medela ones look softer.

Re: Hygeia/Flanges Help
You can get the hygeia apart. Its just a small dab of glue.
