Re: How do you handle your poopy diapers?

I just wash em

I do actually own a diaper sprayer and the worst ones get sprayed, but I use my sprayer maybe once a week. The rest of the time, what doesn't roll off into the toilet gets washed. So far, so good. No leftovers in the wash or on the dipes.

My dd is 11 months old today!! *sob* She nurses 5-6 times a day and eats solids 3-4 times.

I voted 'other' because when Riley pooops I just throw the dirty dipe in the tub and make DH rinse it all out (and he does, without complaining he is a keeper!).

My son will be 1 on Monday and thus far we dunk and flush. The only difference is I made fleece liners for my dipes. I only have to dunk the liner and not the whole dipe. Whatever doesn't come off easily just goes in the wash.

I just spray until I am sure all chunks are gone, you know, the stuff that won't dissolve. Then I soak for abit before washing. I almost never get stains.

Re: How do you handle your poopy diapers?

We've been partially doing Elimination Communication since our daughter was 6 months old and I can say that it seems to be coming together all of a sudden. She only has bms every few days to 7+ days anyway, but we almost always set her on the potty in the morning and then later if we think she needs to use it.

The routine seems to be working, because she had a major bm there 3 days ago, and then another one today. She is almost one year old. We are by no means EC masters, because after her last bm and pee on the toilet (we use a baby seat on regular toilet) she peed all over me while I was folding her nap diaper

I normally let the solid poops fall into the toilet and then soak them in the washer. If I'm afraid they will stain, I rinse them off with my shower head in the shower on the "power wash"

I don't rinse at all. I just throw them in my bag and wash them within 2 days!

Re: How do you handle your poopy diapers?

I had to say 'other' as I'm only using fleece liners and depending on the consistency of DS's poo I can either just shake it off into the toilet and flush or if it's 'glued' onto the liner and the liner is already older, I simply trash the liner. If it isn't yet that old, I fill a bucket w/hot water and a squirt of Dawn and soak the liner in it until it's wash time.

I wipe off what I can with TP into the toilet, then do a cold prewash, low water level with that dipe individually, then throw dipe into pail.
