I exclusively BF, but I need to buy a bottle since DS refuses the AVENT we have

I need some advice. I have no experience with bottles. My first 2 refused them, we didn't have any need to bottle feed, etc.

So baby #3 here and starting next week I'm doing crafts for kids club friday nights. So I'm leaving DS with DH for a couple hours. I'll try and nurse before I leave and I'll nurse when I get back, but I need to get a bottle that he'll actually use. I left for a hour so that DH could try the bottle with DS and he SCREAMED and refused the avent bottle that we have. I don't want to buy a ton of bottles since I don't plan on using them but 1X per week.

DS would only take Playtex Ventaire bottles with the wide nipples...But we did have to try it a few times before he would want to drink from it.

Both my DDs would only take Tommee Tippee.

DS will only take Tommee Tippee bottles. He can not figure out Playtex, Medela or Gerber bottles lol

DS uses the Born Free bottles with great success. I'm not going to size the nipple up from newborn though. I want the bottles to be "work".

I suggest trying a latex nipple instead of silicone (since the avent ones he's refusing are silicone, right?)
My second ds refused bottles (we tried various kinds but they all had silicone nipples) but it wasn't a necessity for him to take a bottle so I gave up. He eventually took a latex paci though (natursutten.) It has a different "mouth feel".

Thanks for the input. The avent ones are silicone, but so is his pacifier. He takes a NUK soother, I was wondering about trying the NUK bottle. I'll look into the latex nipples.

I also had my first 2 sons refuse the bottle all together! I tried Avent, born-free and another I can't remember but baby #3 (who is now 10m) loves his Tommee Tippee bottles. It is a great bottle that is very similar to the breast and it slows down how much they drink as well, also similar to breastfeeding. He has had a bottle since 3m old and only drinks 2 1/2- 3 oz at a time every 2 hours which has been a blessing on keeping up with enough mommy's milk Good luck!
