For us, the FBs didn't fit until he was about 2 months old...at least not the smalls. You can get XSmalls, not sure how easy they are to find. The only thing that fit him were prefolds and covers and Kissaluvs 0s with our covers.

We have 17 and it's not always enough to make it thru 2 days w/o doing laundry. If you change every 3 hrs., that's at least 8/day. Then you have one after the other poops....I feel like 25's a good number (so you can leave 2 in the dipe bag and not worry about running out and forgetting to pack the dipes. I'd say more if you go to work after only a few wks. I just went back and am struggling to keep up w/ dipes every other day...

At one point I had a ton of FBs! I think 24 did it, we were washing every other day. HTH! I got bored with all one thing though!

25 sounds about right. I don't think we are going to end up with all fb's though because I love my wool too much! I've got 14 fb (on the way) and 3 wool soakers that we love... but we are going to be outgrowning the fitteds soon. How many fitteds do you think I will need if I want fitteds w/wool to be 1/2 our stash and have the 14fb as the rest?

I used smalls on Ben right from the beginning (7 lbs 3 oz when he came home from the hosp) and had 22 which was jusssst enough--24 would have been better to wash every other day.

I think I have 26 fb and that is what I use mainly. I have a couple of others that I use too but that is it.

I have 7 mo old twins and a 10 month old. We have about 36 FB's and a mix of other diapers. When they first came home we did sposies for about a month. They were too little for FB's smalls. If I had it to do over I would have bought some cute NB dipers maybe snap-ez's or some off Hyena cart. I have a friend that used Kissaluvs size 0's. My boys fit into their fuzzi bunz when they hit 7lbs. They were premie. So when we first started I would say that 18-24 would be enough depending on how often you want to wash.

I had alot of smalls - at least 24 or so. He was too small initially and then he got really big really fast. I didn't get the hang of it though and didn't know the mf towel trick - he is a big wetter so I had leaks w/ just the hemp inserts. I thought theydidn't work but I just didn't kn ow what worked for us, if you know what I mean.
