How long is reasonable for customs?

OT, where is your in-stock? I've looked, and it says sold out?

I found that a custom wait list was the best way to go. I keep a yahoo group and have the custom list in the files section. I don't find it stressful because you only pay when it's your turn and I email you (I don't feel guilty having someones money for a month). Then I work with that person and get them what they want. I make padz not dipes, i'm sure it's very different with knitting, it takes a lot longer. I think most people are understanding and are willing to wait.

I just stocked a few things last night (Thurs) and half are already sold out. I haven't found the right balance of custom and instock sewing yet... If only there were more hours in a day, lol!

Do you find having a Yahoo group is beneficial as far as an advertising aspect? I mean, how many people have found you due to a simple Yahoo search, and ordered from you? I was thinking the same thing, as I am doing only customs right now due to my family schedule and demands.

Ya know... I never even thought of the yahoo group as advertising. I simply started that to keep an ongoing custom list available for my customers and I figured, so many people already have a yahoo account that it wouldn't be a big thing for them to sign up. I'm not sure that if you did a search on yahoo I would come up, I think you have to pay to be advertisesd on Yahoo but then again, I stopped trying to advertise on the big sites like google, msn, yahoo etc. I think most of my customers come from word of mouth, hyena cart, eBay and these boards.
