Re: 52 Weeks of Organizing - Week 1
So far I purged DS's books, winter clothes, underwear and socks. I am itching to get to his drawers of summer clothing. I am hoping to make my first run to the children's consignment store this week.

This week my focus is the budget and to finish knitting the longies I've been working on. The longies are almost done, but I haven't even started the budget.

Re: 52 Weeks of Organizing - Week 1
I love this idea. Sounds fun, I'm in. I'll need to figure out everything I want to do (and hopefully I'll finish it sooner thank 52 weeks
). The main bathroom looked fine, but once you opened the medicine cabinet or the cabinet under the sink it was scary! So I went through them and threw away expired meds/vitamins, mostly used toiletries that we weren't going to use anymore or that were old and I have a grocery bag full of shampoos and stuff that we're going to give away (switched to greener stuff so I have no use for them). Then today I did a full sweep of my DD's room. I brought out a couple trash bags full of stuff. Some is getting thrown away and the stuff that's still good is getting donated. I also went through her armoire and dresser and pulled a ton of stuff out of there. I don't know that I will be a bare minimalist but my house used to be thrashed constantly, so even just minimizing most stuff is going to help. My DH is even starting to get on board and was just talking about how he's going to go through all of his stuff and donate a lot of clothes and shoes that he doesn't wear anymore. He's a huge packrat so this is a MAJOR step in the right direction for us .ETA: I forgot to say that I also went through the dresser that my DS's share today and pulled a lot of stuff out of there too.

I decided to start small and just clean my bedside table!
If you want to see pictures of my progress I'll be posting them on my blog. The link is in my signature!

I cleaned/purged my laundry room and the junk cabinet in the kitchen today. 6 trash bags to either goodwill or the trash!

Re: 52 Weeks of Organizing - Week 1
I managed to purge my DS's summer clothes. Now I know what I need to shop for this spring.
