ISO San Antonio produce co-op
My MIL is here and impressed with the produce co-op that we are in. She wants to get into one in San Antonio. They live on the NW side. Are there any that someone can recommend? I already looked up a few on the localharvest.org site. But sometimes there are co-ops that aren't listed there, kwim? PM me please if you can suggest one. Thank you!

Re: ISO San Antonio produce co-op
The only one I know of (and its not a traditional co op) is greenlings.com. They dont deliver to my area, though.
There's a grain co op, Baking Bread The Healthy Way, and they have a group buy once or twice a year. They are off Jackson Keller S of 410. We buy our wheat berries there, but they have other foods, too, like honey, beans and so on.

Re: ISO San Antonio produce co-op
Tell her to try http://realfoodsa.blogspot.com/p/about-realfoodsa.html & I'm part of a FB group, I'm sure there are some that participate in co-ops! It's called SANP One Bite At A Time (SANP is San Antonio Natural Parenting). She can also look for some Farmer's Mkts, should be able to google. I know there is one every Wed across from Raymond Rimkus park in Leon Valley, that's NW. But I'm sure there are more

Re: ISO San Antonio produce co-op
Reviving this thread bc some ladies from SANP created a FB discount produce co-op if anyone is interested!
San Antonio Discount Produce Cooperative http://www.facebook.com/groups/SAdiscountproduce/ It's usually quick buys, but super good deals. I've gotten a flat (8lbs) of organic strawberries for $5, 15lbs of organic oranges for $8.50 & 17lbs of organic peaches for $17.
