Cute convo with my 11 yo son

My 11.5 year old, Alexander, asks me today in the car on the way to school, "Mom what do I do if someday I marry a woman and she wants to give our baby formula?" He says, "I just don't understand why anyone would want to give their baby formula when everyone knows breastmilk is better." Well educated young man. He also said, "I will probably call you everyday when I have a baby even though I hate talking on the phone." He is sooo sweet.


I posted this on mt Facebook page and, of course, ignited a debate. Most of my friends are pro-breastfeeding but I do have a few family members and high school classmates who are against.

I just thought it was adorable that he actually thinks about these things

How sweet!!! My DS is 5...a friend of ours uses disposables, and DS was like "mama, why does E use paper diapers on her babies? Who would want to use PAPER DIAPERS?! That's just wrong." LOL!

Thats so sweet! I don't think there are many 11yo's that think that way. DH has an 11 and 13yo brother and sister and they both think breastfeeding is gross, but they have also never been around anything other than formula. So I guess it depends on how the child grows up. Either way, that's awesome!

We call disposables "paper diapers" and not because I'm against them (we use them overnight about 1/2 the time). Its just easier to say paper than disposable! Anyways my MIL heard me call them that and was like "ugh, they're not paper! They're disposable!" :eye roll: umm okay and what do you think makes them "disposable"!!!

Cute!! My 8 yo DS was playing with his sister's doll with her and asked if it had a bottle (it does, but we didn't have it with us), I said no so he says ok, time to breastfeed the baby, lol. He is going to be like your son, pro breastfeeding. He doesn't know any different though.
