Re: anyone tried wool liner/doubler?
I just keep washing and drying untill it's super thick, then cut strips. SUPER easy! Then the more you wash/dry, the better they get. Just remember they will be 1/4 of the size or less than you started with. That's why I wait to cut.

Re: anyone tried wool liner/doubler?
I'll have to give cotton another chance. Maybe I didn't have enough.

Re: anyone tried wool liner/doubler?
I know this is an old thread but I think this is the answer to my search for a natural fiber stay-dry insert. I'm going to try this.

Re: anyone tried wool liner/doubler?
I might be wrong here, but I think they were using as a doubler? (I'm intrigued...)
I use babee greens wool liners as stay dry liners sometimes (next to skin- read about them on the GMD site)-- but not to add absorbancy in our case-- but I think many lanolize them and use them to boost the wool they're using (next to the wool, outside the cotton--like to make daytime wool night or nap worthy)

You're right. I meant stay-dry liner not insert.

Re: anyone tried wool liner/doubler?
Thanks for bumping this! I love the idea of using wool as an insert.

Re: anyone tried wool liner/doubler?
![]() I got flamed once for suggesting it, so I hesitate to say anything right off. Hesitate no more! I think you'll like/love it. I have seconds from babee greens (I don't see why you couldn't make your own) and I just love breathable! Since you want the liquid to pass right through, don't use a wash with lanolin. (I use olive oil soap or ecover delicate wash). I throw them in a bucket in the am to soak while I'm at work and I lay out to dry at night. They're the one thing I try not to felt- since I want them to stay nice and thin and to let pee go right through. I learned about them from GMD's website.
