Re: How Accurate are Sono Weight Estimates?
DS was estimated at 8lb 6oz. He was born the next day 9lb 13oz. Over a lb over.
This time, unless I have to have U/S, NST/BPP, I won't even ask to know size. If they do inform me of size, I won't even bother worrying about size. I've exercised, eaten extremely healthy, and know whatever size of baby my body has produced is a baby I can birth!

Re: How Accurate are Sono Weight Estimates?
The measurements can be off up to 2 lbs in either direction in the last trimester. I was told that both of my kids would be 10lbs. The were both just shy of 8lbs.

Re: How Accurate are Sono Weight Estimates?
I had an U/S a few days before DS was born (DS was born at exactly 36w). They were telling me that he was about 5lbs. He was 7lbs 14oz when he came out. I cringe to think how big he would have been if he had stayed in the whole time.

Re: How Accurate are Sono Weight Estimates?
I had an ultrasound the day before DS was born. They estimated him to be 9lbs 6oz. He came out the next day weighing 8lbs 8oz.

I had an ultrasound less than 24 hours before dd was born (at the hospital) and was estimated to be 8-9.5. She was 7.5, but they did say it was really hard to predict because there is no extra space! And they commented on how she was really taking up all the space in there.

It gets harder and harder to get an accurate measurement the bigger they are. My DD was guessed to be about 2lbs 12oz at 31w2d. She was born 3 days later weighing 2lbs 12oz! They were pretty darn close! Lol. With DS I had a scan when I was in labor and my OB said he will be 8.5-9 pounds. He was 9lbs 2oz.

Re: How Accurate are Sono Weight Estimates?
I had one the day before delivering DD. It was 22oz off. That's a lot to me. My OB this time does not do weight checks- he says they always overestimate. Always.
