Glider or rocker recliner?
I want one for the baby's room....but i can't decide which to get. I've had a rocking chair with DD/DS, and a rocker/recliner with DS2 (it's still in our living room)...but i was thinking it'd be nice to have one in the baby's room, so i could go there with just her.
I am looking at this one glider at target, it would match, and our local target had one (may be sold now) that was an online return and is now marked down to $250 from 350(PLUS i have a 10% off everything left on your registry card that came today i could use with it making it $225...not sure if i can use my target cc with it for an additional 5%)....and they also have the ottoman, and it would cost $45..do i need that? eta- and the glider swivels too ![]() eta2- i think i'm more or less asking permission...should i buy this?! (dont' say ask dh, b/c 1)he's not here right now, and 2) he really good give two poo's about the baby's nursery and what i want in it..lol! I've been very thrifty and bought everything used and a few deco pieces at discount stores ETA3- I got it! It's really comfortable...and i'm decently tall at 5'9. It's head height is nice and kinda sets you to a light recline but supportive for the back, cushy, but not too squishy, and arm rest at a good nursing level (i think). And bonus, the ottaman, which was $50 and i thought would be $45 with my coupon...was actually 50% off the clearance price b/c of a sale they have going on this week, so it was only $25! Definitely got it too. If nothing else, i'll put a tray on top of it as a side table or it will be a good place for an older child to sit while i hold the baby ![]()

I love my glider. I got one from bru two years ago on black Friday. It came with an ottoman - it's nice but not necessary. It's so much easier to rock in than our rocking recliner.

What's the fabric? We have one for each of our kids and I LOVE them! I'd often put my wrap carrier on and fall asleep with them on my chest in the chair when they were colicky. That said, you'll probably want a fabric that is wipeable or hides stains as it's bound to catch a few spit-ups.
Oh and the ottoman is really nice. Let's you really relax - especially if it also rocks. Sent from my iPhone using DS Forum

Re: Glider or rocker recliner?
I love those chairs! So much more comfy than a regular rocker. The only reason why I haven't bought one (besides no money!) is I'm tall and would prefer one with a higher back and deeper seat. Swiveling is really nice too
Personally I don't like rocking ottomans and prefer a solid, low stool.

Re: Glider or rocker recliner?
I had a glider and ottoman with my first 2 children, and now have a rocker recliner and love it! The glider was nice and got lots of use, but the rocker recliiner is so much more comfortable when ds and I would fall asleep nursing.

Re: Glider or rocker recliner?
I had a glider with DD and loved it, but since I am having twins this time I went with a rocker / recliner to go in their room. I figured I could use the recliner part at night as another sleep option and place to go when my heartburn is crazy. I also liked the super cushy arms and figured that would help me with holding them comfortably.
The pic you added looks like a great option!
