Re: so this may sound like a crazy name but...

I don't think it's so bad. I say if you like it, go for it At first it sounds a little odd, but I think because it's just not a popular name. I thought the same thing with Apple or Piper, and now they seem to be gaining popularity and they don't sound weird at all anymore when I hear them.

I really think Honey Elizabeth is pretty cute and I am not really into "different" names.

Just imagine 24 years from now when your daughter is applying for a job at a major corporation. If her name is Honey, she may get overlooked in the stack of 100 resumes. It is adorable for 2 year old, but I can't see calling a 30 year old that.

It is a great pet name. Maybe even a middle name. But I would not use it as a first name. I teach middle school. Kids will be awful about it. Awful. The adults will probably give her grief too. Her entire life, she is going to take crap for it.

I like the name. There is a bluegrass band I like and the leader is named Honi Deaton (pronounced Honey). I smile when I hear it. DEFINITELY better than a LOT of girl names out there...

I really don't care for it. It doesn't seem like a "real" name. Also, I can see problems as an adult with that name as previous posters have said.

Or some name that starts with a "B" and then she is your little Honey Bee!

I am struggling with naming these twin girls right now. We want to use Valor for one DD, but I am having a hard time coming up with her twins name!
The first name that came to mind is Verity.

I think it's cute for a stripper, not a Little girl.

oh my goodness!! i love maple! maybe that's a more appropriate choice?

i think we've settled now on using the family name for girls on my side, which is Elizabeth, and calling her Birdie for short. Middle name still undecided though!

i think i got caught up in a friends grandmother being called "grandma honey" and how cute that sounded. but really, its only cute on old ladies and little girls. i know i probably wouldn't like to be called Honey at this stage of my life. Thanks for all the input! If y'all think of any other cute names, kind of like Honey and Maple, send em my way! i know a girl that named her daugther "Mila Plum" and i thought that was so cute! probably one of my favorite names I've heard.

Honey is cute-ISH as a middle name, but no, do not use it as a first name.
