Another plugged duct??
I think I'm getting another plugged duct. I had one about 3 weeks ago.
I don't know why I keep getting them! I nurse my DD whenever she wants and for as long as she wants. She's 2 months old. Any suggestions? Am I doing something wrong?

Re: Another plugged duct??
Likely, it is just the way your body makes milk. Some moms have great results taking nutritional Lecithin to help the body drain milk. lecithin..
Also, look at the size/shape of your bras. If they aren't a good fit, they can cause plugged ducts. Finally, how you sleep. Putting pressure on one side or the other for extended periods of time can also result in plugged ducts.

Re: Another plugged duct??
Ditto PP. I got plugged ducts at least weekly before I realized my bras were to blame. I must be super sensitive because if the girls are restricted in any way, even if the bra fits well, I'll get a plug. I go braless and wear a cami (without shelf bra) under my shirt when I can get away with it...if I need more support I'll wear a Motherhood Maternity sleep bra (not much support but better than nothing). If I absolutely must wear a bra, I can count on a plugged duct the next day! Lecithin helps quite a bit and the plugs don't last long.
Hope you're able to find the solution. I absolutely dread that feeling when I know I'm getting one. |

Re: Another plugged duct??
I found that my plugged ducts drastically reduced when I got more quality sleep. I haven't have one in a few months...until today. My LO has been sleeping really crappy lately so that is what I attribute it to.
