I'm planning on switching from my hospital based MW practice to Special Beginnings, a freestanding birth center in Annapolis. So far, I'm loving the information I got from the website. It is EXACTLY what I want for my birth.

In both my prior births, the hospital did not respect my wishes and it still makes me sad. This is most likely my last child and birth, so I want it to be everything I want it to be, without fighting hospital staff for it and stressing about not being ALLOWED to have what I want.

They also have people come from PA and VA...Has anyone been there? Thoughts? PLEASE????

I live in Harford County and have only ever heard great things about that practice. I have precipitus delivery so that far of a drive was not an option for our births. Congrats on the baby!

I would make the drive if they were in VA (I have VA medicaid :/)

I delivered there a couple of yeas ago and had a great experience. Im new to this group but I think you can message me if you want more info. When are you due? Im due the end of September

I started there till I looked into my insurance and found out they no longer covers BC so we opted for a homebirth this since we are paying out of pocket.

I started there but because I was a VBAC I was not allowed to birth there and ended up having a homebirth instead. The care I received until the time I left was excellent! I have many friends including my doula for DD2 who had her 1st 2 children there and have heard nothing but great experiences!
