Is there a bottle that is "breast-like" out there that's NOT plastic???

We are having a really hard time getting DS to take a bottle. He's 9 weeks. He took one a few weeks ago really well but not since...I go back to work in 2 weeks so we're trying to start getting him used to one. He hates pacifiers as well, so this is proceeding to be a challenge for us. We were successful for a few minutes tonight and he took almost an ounce, but it wasn't easy. We have been using the advice from the kellymom.com site and Dr. Sears site on trying to get your baby to take a bottle. I have tried using the small neck glass bottles with a couple of different nipples, glass wide neck Born Free bottles with a couple of different nipples, and I do have one Breastflow bottle that was given to me at a baby shower, but I really hate that the Breastflow bottle is plastic and the nipple won't fit on my wide neck Born Free bottle. Does a bottle that mimics a boob that's not plastic even exist?

Have you tried leaving the house when someone attempts to bottle feed? Babies are smart and know when "the tap" is nearby and will reject bottles when mama is around.

Well, my mom watched him for me one morning for a few hours and he took them great with her. The other night I went to Costco and Target and DH tried to feed him while I was gone and it went horribly so I just fed him as soon as I got home. Tonight, I didn't leave the house but I was in another room when DH tried again. Maybe I could run an errand or two when he tries again. I will be working this Sat. from 8-12 before I start back full-time so I wanted to have him a little used to it by then. I hope he does ok. Katie never had issues taking a bottle,so I will admit I'm just a tad stressed about going back to work now.

I've been trying out the medela calma nipple with the green to grow glass bottles. So far my daughter seems to like it, and I like that she can control the flow,

Re: Is there a bottle that is "breast-like" out there that's NOT plastic???

I have been looking for a glass wide nipple bottle too.

The only bottle my boys would drink out of was playtex ventaire wide nipple. They are plastic so no help there. I do understand the frustration of finding one that works. I probalby tired 5 or 6 different ones with DS1. It was very frustraiting.

I started introducing bottles at 3 weeks. Just one a day to prepare for daycare. DH or someone else gave the bottle I either left the room or the house completely. Once they got the hang of it, neither boy cared what the milk was in. They just loved to eat. LOL!!

This IS a plastic bottle BUT BPA free. I highly recommend it. I nursed my youngest daughter for 27 months. THIS bottle helped me during a serious surgery I had to have 4 months after I had her.
It got me through 4 days of having to pump medicated milk . I had milk frozen to get me through a week and this bottle is the only one I found that was so supremely boob like that the transition was easy.
As in getting her to use it while I was out of commission.
She had no issues going between the breast and this bottle.

it is not a hard plastic top .. the bottom half is a little harder ,but the top oh man, the top is soft and squishy just like a boob Thats the only way I can explain it.
