Can I "brown"TVP
We aren't eating meat anymore. My dh has been a pretty good sport about it. Tonight I'm making chili with TCP,but I want it to have a bit more texture, not just mushy little blobs. Can I brown it like you would ground meat?

Re: Can I "brown"TVP
I buy Bob's Red Mill TVP and what I usually do is rehydrate, and then I sauté it up in a skillet quickly to dry it up a bit. We use 1 cup TVP to equal 1lb of ground meat in our favorite recipes. You can reconstitute it in a "No-Beef" beef broth too, for a more "meaty" flavor. I find them at Kroger or Whole Foods.
