Re: I **want** to like cloth pads, but...
You guys have such interesting experiences. I really appreciate the insights! I know this isn't my thread, but I think I'm going to at least start with some cloth liners and try a cup for a few months!

Maybe try a diva cup? If I had more of a period that's what I'd use..but I have an IUD so my periods are very minimal..so I don't know that I see the point of using one lol.

Re: I **want** to like cloth pads, but...
I've got to say, I'm not really buying that mysterious chemicals leach into your lady parts and cause a harder period.
What does make sense is that the texture of a disposable pad and its greater moisture attracting properties could pull more of what is in the vagina out. Interesting.

Re: I **want** to like cloth pads, but...
I have a heavy flow and use pp size most of the time, and cannot use flannel or minkee, they just don't absorb quickly. Flannel is too tight a weave and minkee is a poly, so they both left me feeling nasty. My preference is OBV, followed closely by cotton velours, and a bamboo core (fleece backed). OBV and CV both wick quickly and help me feel less... gross.
ETA: I do use a Lady Cup for the 2 heaviest days. I just use pads the other 7-9 days, and flannel usually is "ok" the first day of spotting.

Re: I **want** to like cloth pads, but...
So maybe this is why I hated to use cloth pads for my period?! I bought a bunch of flannel ones and they felt yucky to me also. However, I never minded using them as panty liners between periods. Since my first and only purchase of mama pads didn't go so well I ended up going with a Diva Cup and had no issues. Maybe I need to give pads another go, but with a different material. Hmmmmmm

I'd suggest OBV pads from Pink Lemonade. I have some minky ones too but I prefer the texture of the the OBV.

Re: I **want** to like cloth pads, but...
So interesting this thread. I have been meaning to buy a diva cup. I used some of the store bought instead cups but they always leak and won't stay in Place. Ans since I have conquered the serger maybe I'll make myself a few pads.
