That depends.
They can be unsafe because: Baby can now reach up higher, and many people don't adjust their baby proofing according. They can knock things on themselves because they go faster. They can role down stairs on accident because they don't have as good an awareness of where the edges of the walker are. They use different muscles than walking, don't promote walking or balance skills, and can delay development if over used. I remember reading something saying no more than 30 minutes a day under supervision? ?? |

They're completely banned on Canada for being unsafe so I'll say no.

I have a functioning brain and a reasonable amount of common sense...I used them with all 3 kids, in moderation, with zero issues...

They don't seem safe... what's the point of a walker? They don't teach kids how to walk so why not use an exersaucer they will be stationary in?

My youngest dd LOVVVVVVVVED hers! I have VERY early walkers, and we have a marble floor now. Having a 5-month-old who only wants to cruise over a marble floor is not a good combo. She LOVED the walker bc she could stand up, walk, run, and explore. It also kept her from cracking her head on the marble. We never had an issue.

Some kids get bored with stationary activities. Mine have to be on-the-go, or they get fussy quickly. Swings weren't favorites here, either.
