A day of meals for a weaning 1 year-old & older?
Hi, I need an idea of what your 1 year and older baby eats/drinks all day? I plan to try to get ds on a 2 times a day nursing schedule--8pm & 7am only, with food/drink taking up the rest of the day. I will keep those 2 nursings indefinitely, though.
So, what does your day look like? Or any helpful meal plan links? Here's what ours is like right now (at 10 months) but I know I'll have to find subs for the nursing sessions--cow milk? full fat yogurt? What about protein? I just want to make sure he's getting all of his vitamins. 5:30 am nurse (trying to push this to 7am) 9 am nurse 10 am oatmeal 11am cheerios snack Nap 12:30am nurse 2pm Smoothie (just fruits, veggies, water, blended and served in straw cup) 3pm baby food--veggies or meat & veggies usually 4pm nurse Nap 5pm cut up fruit, smoothie 6:30pm--oatmeal or what we are having (although he is not too big on textures yet) 8pm nurse, bed 11:30pm nurse

Re: A day of meals for a weaning 1 year-old & older?
My daughter weaned one liquid feeding at 10months and another at 12months and then was eating 3 square meals at about 13months. I think it's certainly doable to wean down quicker, but I would really just follow their lead unless there's a real reason you want to do it another way.
but.. at 1yr old, she ate something like: -wakeup: 6oz bottle -2 hrs later: breakfast -2 hrs later: snack - usually dry cereal/crackers type snacks -2 hrs later: lunch -post nap: 5oz bottle and fruit -2 hrs later: dinner -before bedtime: 5oz bottle that's basically what it looks like now, except at 21months, more like -7:30: 5oz milk -9am: breakfast -11:30/12: lunch -post nap snack: fruit and milk -5:30/6: dinner so, not often a morning snack and nothing right before bed.

My DD loves Greek yogurt and beans(we rotate kidney, black, lima, red, chick pea, edamame, etc),
lunch we usually have chicken, 1 orange/yellow/white color veggie, 1 green color veggie, 1 type of bean and milk. Morning snack, Greek yogurt and some cracker or dry cereal(non sugar/color type) and fruit. Afternoon snack, apple sauce, maybe peanut/jelly slice bread, half a cheese stick, milk(she only drink 8-14oz per day). Dinner, similar to lunch, instead of chicken we will have fish, beef or turkey. After dinner snack, half cheese stick, fruit, little crackers and little milk and brush teeth. At 19th month, she pretty much eats everything we serve her, she loves banana mix w avocado and eat hummus at restaurant. She tried Indian, Chinese, Italian, labenese and Philippe food. We r going to be broke if she don't stop eating blueberry like crazy! |

I used the healthy baby meal planner book. It had terrific recipes and a lot of the things the whole family enjoyed. Her menu plans were very helpful to me.
