Re: March '13 Babies To Do List

So I didn't post my to-do list on here yet, but this is what I want to get done before March 1st....

1) Buy storage bins and organize all of boys toys, clothes, shoes, ect, to fit everything but dressers in closet as sort of an organized toy shelf- Check!

2) Move both boys into one room.- Check...except still need bunk bed

3) Get rid of big items I know longer need, like train table and toy organizer thingy. Check!

4) Make wool covers out of recycled wool sweaters

5) Tie-dye more flour sac towels to use for flats.

6) Learn how to sew my own covers and if it's a girl I want to make some dresses. My sewing skills are minimal.

7) Buy new sewing machine.

8) Start making my own laundry soap.

9) Get some things I got rid of for baby #3 (face palm!)
-Tub
-swing
-jumper
-pac n' play
-girl clothes if it's a girl

10) Get all my baby stuff back from various friends I've loaned them too.

That's all I can think of for now, but I'm sure there's more!

Re: March '13 Babies To Do List

I really don't have a lot to do...... this is #6 in an 8 year time span, and I've become quite a "minimalist" as far as baby gear goes. However, we did get rid of quite a bit after DD2, baby #5, was born... thinking we were done.

We're going "team green" this time around. I have a ton of baby boy stuff left over from my boys and today I spent $40.00 on 368pcs of NICE baby girl clothing from NB-9mos! Socks, bibs, onesies, outfits, sleepers galore, blankets, etc.... you name it, it came... MORE than enough stuff to get a baby girl through the first 9 months, all season appropriate. So, girl or boy, he or she is SET as far as the "layette" goes.

We have....
-brand new breast pump. With my last two kiddos, we only did latched-on feedings.. no pump or bottle. But I do have the pump along with a few Playtex Nurser bottles in the event I need them.
-clothes and blankets galore.
-bath chair
-changing table
-dresser
-diaper bags galore

We plan to buy..
-New carseat
-Swing
-Playard- we cosleep but I like them to have a desginated place to nap out of the reach of the other kiddos, lol.
-New Beco or Ergo
-New stash of diapers. We did sell off ALL of our diapers almost RIGHT before I found out we were pregnant again and I finally had all kids diaper free.

Annnnnnnd for the big one..... we're gonna need a new vehicle. :/ We have a Chrysler Town and Country as our "family" vehicle right now. 2 captain seats in the middle and a bench seat in the back = family of 7. We're one upping that, so a new ride is a MUST for sure. That will be our tax purchase this year.

Other than that... we're pretty much good & ready, lol.

We obviously need bigger but we also don't want TOO big, and decent gas mileage is a MUST as we live in the sticks, a 30 mile round trip just to get to the nearest "worth a dang" town.. lol.
We're actually REALLY interested in the GMC Acadia, which is a crossover. We're not comfortable with going brand new. The 2007 SLE seats 8 and actually looks decently roomy. We were looking at the Chevy Traverse also, but it's a little newer and quite a bit more pricey. :/

Re: March '13 Babies To Do List

I'm glad I finally checked this thread out. I haven't really even started thinking about what we need to get done, but this will be a great place for me to organize & add things to. I feel like most of what we need to do is simple things to get ready for the little one. I'll just start a list and reorganize it (I like those of you who have broken it down by months) as I go:

TO DO
- clean out basement to get ready to move DS into a new room (DH is moving his man cave into the basement to DS can have the extra room)
- buy twin/toddler bed & bedding for DS
- move DS into toddler bed to prepare for change
- go through old nb clothes, take stock, & buy more GN clothes if needed (as of now we're planning on team green) buy some little girl clothes
- buy an Arm's Reach
- finish building & prepping nb stash - 36 diapers total (need to count)
- sell old BG 3.0
- get pumped cleaned & serviced
- buy new nursing bras/tanks
- learn how to use my sewing machine
- buy a new crib mattress
- consign boy clothes to make room for new ones

THING WE HAVE
- pump
- crib
- dresser/changing table
- glider
- tons of blankets & sheets & towels
- lots of clothes (mostly boy some GN)
- boppy
- several carriers
- several diaper bags

That's all I can think of now. I'll have to add more as I get going.

Well. At least half my list has gotten done. I should update it with the last things that need to get done.

Did everyone else get their lists done?

I knocked off a few more on my list this month. I will get most of the list finished over my winter break off from work!

Is BRU's doing a trade in week? I have a car seat sitting in our garage that I won't use anymore since it was in a car accident just waiting for the trade in, but I thought I read they discontinued that program?!?!
