Another update:
Over night he had to have another platelet transfusion and this morning he was cleared for surgery to put the port in, and bone marrow biopsy while under.He did have a rough night with having so many IVS and monitors hooked up.Parents are starting to break down and I have a feeling during surgery when they can finally sit and arent taking care of him they will fully break down.

Is this a chronic or acute form of leukemia? I know the chronic forms are easiest to get under control through transfusions and regular meds. It's the acute forms that we think of most often when we hear the word "leukemia." Prayers for this child of God

He was diagnosed with B-Cell ALL (Acute Lympho Blastic Leukemia).Doctors are confident in his treatment course and remission.His first chemo was Monday which is now feeling the effects of and his second treatment will be tomorrow.Its going to be a long uphill battle for him.

Hope this sweet boy is getting better

He is doing pretty good for the amount and intensity of his treatment!Doing 10 weeks of 4days a week of methotrexate chemo currently. Hes feeling the effects with it.By the time he starts feeling a little better, is eating and playing its time for another round of chemo.They are having a hard time with Thrush from his mouth to his anus which really kills his ability to eat and is now to the point of causing bleeding with even the stroke of anything against his lips. He was getting blood transfusions because his platelet levels dropped every few days but he hasnt had one in a week!Oh and he gets to be home for Christmas!
