Re: When to stop

I agree if baby is at a good weight and wakes herself when hungry I wouldn't continue to wake her.

Re: When to stop

I dont wake a night sleeping baby either as long as they were full term and gaining weight and having enough wet/dirty diapers and no jaundice. I do however wake a day sleeping baby at 3 hours. so they don't end up getting nights/days mixed up.

Re: When to stop

I always wake my babies to feed them during the day (never at night except a dream feed), pretty much the entire time I nurse. It ensures they are getting their calories during the day which helps early STTN which is something I value. It reduces reverse cycling and night wakefulness since it ensures we have sufficient daytime wakefulness. It teaches my babies not to cry when waking because they are hungry. They have no need to cry and scream for food since it's offered before they know they're hungry . We are a scheduling family as are most of our closest friends. We nearly all wake our babies to eat and all have happy to wake, happy to sleep babies that gain well and STTN by 12 weeks.

Re: When to stop

My thoughts were always...baby will let me know know what she wants food. If she sleeping peacefully, she's not too hungry Just keep an eye on weight gain.
