Re: Fat, sick, and nearly dead

My recipe is roughly $1.80 per 16 oz juice. So if I were juicing 4 times per day it would be less than $8 per day.

Re: Fat, sick, and nearly dead

I made my first green juice today & spent a few hrs on the toilet today, hope that is not going to happen every time. Does not help that I woke up with a cold this morning so not feeling the best..

Has anyone lost weight & kept it off doing juicing?

Re: Fat, sick, and nearly dead

Just started a 3 day detox. When my husband did a 15 day juice feast, I was still nursing, so I couldn't go full force. I plan on doing a 3 day feast and then juicing at least once a day along with eating mostly raw foods . . . I have a 30 lbs weight loss goal.

Re: Fat, sick, and nearly dead

I lasted only a couple of days, don't think I could get over the green colour. It tasted ok but the mental side to being denied eating was too much. I did not lose any weight.

I still have carrot, celery & ginger juiced for b'fast since I have been doing that long before seeing F,S & ND.

When I logged all the food in MFP I was surprised to see just how many cals I had drunken & the high sugar content, I knew sugar would be up there because of apples & carrots but still there was a lot.

Also I found it expensive.

Re: Fat, sick, and nearly dead

that movie is amazing along with Food Inc. my teenager will no longer eat meat and we are very careful with chicken and eggs- only cage free is for us now.
2, the juicing we didnt do but we are smoothie- ing already lost 4 lbs in a week. I am eating regular food too. just little to no wheat.

it is expensive, but we tend to eat a lot of fruit and veggies anyway so its not that much more. it does make me feel great much better tho!!

hubby did it and lost 6 lbs the first week. again smoothie with the nutribullet vs juicing. we are not stuck on toilet at all tho LOL

I might give the smoothie a go. Well done on your weight loss. How many meals do you eat & drink?

I really love the movie and the ideals, but juicing did not work out for me (or DH). We planned a 3 day fast with recipes according to their website. By the end of the first day we were both very lightheaded and nauseaus. The juice also made us both have stomach aches after drinking. It was bad enough that I threw up once about an hour after the dinner juice. We basically threw in the towel after that first day. I don't think juicing is bad but for some reason our bodies did not respond well. We have continued to juice at least once a day but more mild stuff (carrots, spinach, celery, apples...).
