We add a touch of ketchup if its too spicy for them. Otherwise my kids eat what we do.
Autocorrect has helped me type this.

Re: Chili recipe good for toddler too
I make mine mild or ds1 will cry it is to hot for him. I simply don't put to much of the hotter seasonings in. ds2(15 months) loves it.

Re: Chili recipe good for toddler too
Ours just eat what we eat for the most part, esp. at that age, but if you're concerned it's too spicy you could always just set aside a portion for your LO before you start seasoning it

Re: Chili recipe good for toddler too
We make our regular recipe but also serve it with rice to cut the spice a bit if they want to.

Re: Chili recipe good for toddler too
1 tablespoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 1/4 teaspoon onion powder 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano 1/2 teaspoon paprika 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin 1 teaspoon sea salt 1 teaspoon black pepper I use this combo of seasonings except I skip the red pepper flakes. I don't follow the exact quantity as I just toss in whatever amount I think looks good to me. I also use fresh garlic, salt to taste and no onion powder as my husband is allergic. This is from allrecipes. It is taco seasoning 1 by Bill Echols. It has the highest rating I believe. I also like to use this in ground or shredded chicken or beef for tacos. |
