At what age is it ok to night wean. Second time around with my DD is different than the first child. Any advice? We co-sleep so I know it will be a hard one, but mama needs some sleep!

I don't know but I am interested too! DS is 16 months and has never slept through the night and I am wondering if night weaning will help... I have been sleep deprived for over 2 years

I've heard not to night wean before a year, but can't remember where I heard that!

How old is your LO and how often is she nursing at night?

I have no scientific answer, but I had intentions of doing it around 6 months with all 3 of my kids...but it ended up being around 9 months

I also stopped cosleeping around then too though, making it easier.

I think around 12 months is a good time. It really depends on the child, though.

I heard that it is fine as long as they are eating meals throughout the day, no sooner than 6 months old. Of course DD is now 12 months and we just got to night weaning...

Some singing, rocking, and back rubbing has been working really well (although she still puts up a bit of a fight) she goes to sleep faster and stays asleep longer!
