Hi mamas,

Just curious...

How much do you pay for your daily childcare (and what type -- daycare, in-home, etc)?

My school district does 3+ year olds for $30 a day at the districts daycare.

Primrose wanted $290 a week for my 19 month old. It was $275 a week for my 3 year old. While it was wonderful care, it was out of our price range.

Instead, my mom watches my kids for free. We don't agree in everything, but in the end, I gave up some of my dignity to have free daycare.

My daughters after school care is $140 per month. My son's montessori (full time, open 7 to 6) is $850 for Pre primary. It's high, but it's close to home and they provide organic breakfast, lunch, and snack.

This spring we were paying $670 for my daughter in montessori and 810 for my sons infant care, but it was on the other side of town and we provided all food.

I charge $35-50/day depending on age and how many days in my care. A 10 month old for 4 days is $45/day, and a 3yr old one day a week is $35. When I was working 7yrs ago it was about $25-35/day for care.

220 per week for my 22 month old. 255 a month after school care. We live in ct and everything is ridiculously priced.

DD is in half day Kinder. She uses the on-site after school program. It costs $99/wk for <5.5hrs (all we need) or $115 for Full-Time (>5.5hrs). Next year, once she is in school all day it will cost $81 for 5day a week after-school care. If we need care when school is not in session, it is $29/day or $125 for a week-long daycamp.

DS is in a licensed home-daycare. We pay $120/wk. We have to pay whether he goes or not. In addition to his daycare costs, we also pay $135/mth for DS to attend a 2hr/day 2day/wk Pre-school and $20/wk for a friend to watch him in the mornings before preschool and transport him to/from Preschool and to daycare on those days.

Our home daycare is relatively inexpensive. Most others in the area are $150-200/wk. The centers in the area are $275/wk for infants (up to age 2) and $230 for ages 3-5 (pre-K). There are lower rates for school-age care.

30 a day for my 17 mo in home daycare 3 days a week. $40 a week (3 hours) for before school care (college student comes to our house and drives kids to school) for 3 days 3 kids. So total $130 a week for 3 days

8 yr old - $400 for afterschool care

3yr old - $750 for group daycare. It was $1050 when she was under 3.

We live in a high cost of living area.

My 4 y.o. is in Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten so he just gets wrap-care now [before/after program]. It's $64 a week. When he was strictly full time daycare it was $124 a week.

$1300 a month, full time in-home licenses care for two kids. I get a pretty sweet deal to. I should really be paying about $1450, but I work with the DCP's daughters, so she gives me the "family" discount
