LOL! No shame in it!
I do it a couple times a week, sometimes even more often. Just depends on how the week is going.

My 11 month old watches tv.
not all day or anything. Just sometimes that is the only way to get him to fall asleep. He never watches more than a few minutes but I feel terrible about it.

Re: I swore I wouldnt
Yup. Much as the electronic babysitter is maligned, sometimes you do what you gotta do to get through the day, the hour or even the minute. I was a much better parent before I had kids, I tell ya.

Re: I swore I wouldnt
Totally agree! My kids watched way more TV last week than I'd like to admit when I got knocked flat on my butt with a bad case of strep throat. They were sick, too, but you couldn't tell. I could barely move, and they were playing normal.

Re: I swore I wouldnt
Yup. I use the TV as a babysitter often for my 4 year old. He watches TV several hours a day. He does other things as well (right now he's running around the house with a flyswatter killing flies). Do I feel bad about it? Absolutely not. He's learned more from Bubble Guppies, Dora, and Team Umizoomi than I ever have time to teach him at home. He knows how to write his name, the entire alphabet, all of his numbers, and most shapes. He also knows all of his colors, and what colors the primary colors make when mixed together (blue and red make purple). Heck no I don't feel bad about my kid learning something from someone besides me, lol. I work from home 40-60 hours a week, so sometimes the TV is a necessity.

Re: I swore I wouldnt
I don't know what you ladies are talking about, I never turn that thing on-so weird that my two year old knows all of the characters on disney playhouse and can sing the theme song to mickey mouse clubhouse word for word? ha ha! I put Mickey on every day at 5 pm like clockwork so I can make dinner!
