Success! They have a new home! Thanks!
**A really nice lady came by this morning and picked up all of my chickens, so they now have a great new home. Thanks everyone!!**
My husband and I are having to sell our acreage and move back to Nebraska, and we can't take our chickens with us b/c we will be living in an apartment. I have 5 hens and 1 bantam rooster (he is TINY) that I need to rehome. I have tried Craigslist, but the only person that has contacted me has been really rude so I'd rather not deal with them. If anyone out there that lives in our area (we are outside of Bradleyville, MO) would be willing to take them in, please PM me. They are all "friendly" (meaning they aren't aggressive, only the Black Australorp will allow you to pick her up willingly) and will all come when you call them for food. I want them to go to a home that will use them for eggs or as pets, not someone that will just butcher them. They are all healthy, no diseases, and are used to being free range. The Ameraucana/Brahma mix actually raised the others (except the Australorp) from chicks, so they are very attached to each other. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. The chickens I have are: Hens: Black Australorp (lays light brown eggs) Black Ameraucana (lays green eggs) Brown Ameraucana (lays green eggs) Black Tailed White Japanese bantam (TINY!! ornamental, won't lay eggs) Tan/cream Ameraucana/Brahma mix (lays green eggs) Roo: Gold Laced Sebright (ornamental, they are generally infertile) Here are some pictures... L-R Brown Ameraucana, Ameraucana/Brahma mix, Black Australorp ![]() Black Ameraucana ![]() Black Tailed White Japanese Bantam (she is about the size of a softball, not including her tail) ![]() Gold Laced Sebright roo (he is slightly bigger than the white one, just less round)

They would just need a small coop to sleep in at night, with a nest to lay their eggs in.

Re: Anyone from the Springfield, MO area willing to take in 6 chickens?
Hi there! I live in Warrensburg Mo but have family in the Springfield area. My mom I think is to the max with chickens but they know some other people who have them. I have a small backyard flock of my own about your size, I really would love to add the Ameraucanas but they don't get to free range the way they used too and I would feel bad about confining them along with mine. Although I do have a nice coop&run setup, I wouldn't have the room for yours without placing a few of my others. I was thinking of placing a few of mine that just don't prodice eggs despite being yearlings. Anyway, I'll speek to my mom and see if they can get the word out.
What date do you need home for them by? |

Re: Anyone from the Springfield, MO area willing to take in 6 chickens?
I think I found a home for my chickens! Woot!
Now, I need to find a home for my cat. Does anyone want to take in a 4 year old, grey and white, slightly overweight (just more to love!) spayed female cat? She's a wonderful gal!!

I'm so sorry you're having to give up your pets. Another mama on here just had to do that as well.
