If you had a big pot of chili on the stove for dinner...
would you set the table with bowls and spoons or plates and forks?
ETA: My DH grew up eating chili with a fork on a plate and I know tonight if he sets the table I'll have to make a special point for him to include spoons and bowls. He thinks using a fork and plate for chili (just chili - no sides) is just a little outside of normal, but in actuality he is super weird, right? ![]() Advertisement

bowl and spoon, who makes chili so thick that it can be eaten with a fork?

Are you having any sides? If it was just chili then I would only put out bowls and spoons.

hahahaha!! I totally get where you are coming from. My hubby's family's 'thing' is grilled peanut butter sandwiches. He also requests ring bologna (YUCK!) served with cooked chocolate pudding and a side of pb on white bread for dipping in pudding. He says it's like a sweet/salty thing. The PB on bread dipped in the pudding is supposed to taste like a peanut butter cup. Ummm, no. Not in a million years does it taste anything like a PB cup.

Bowls and spoons but I would also add a small plate for bread and peanut butter or grilled cheese.

Re: If you had a big pot of chili on the stove for dinner...
I voted bowls and spoons, but we tend to have other "stuff" with our chili such as cornbread or crackers & cheese, salad or veggies stick, etc. So I tend to set out bowls and spoons plus small plates and forks if needed. Chili-yum!
