How involved is your SO/DH with the purchasing of baby things?

My husband loves to shop and is a researcher so he loves buying and researching baby gear :-) not so much for little things but for all the big things we was really into it. He's a very hands on dad in general so this is kind of an extension of that. I love it because he shops around for good deals and saves me time and money.

SO and I have made almost every decision together regarding both boys, even down to what type of onesies wear under their sleepers as infants...

nope, dh doesn't care what we have or don't have or need or don't need. Actually,he doesn't really see a need for any of it except the sling and the carseat!

Nope, my DH doesn't really care...he trusts me to pick things out. He helped me pick out a swing and carseat this time, which surprised me. The only thing he insisted on was a crib from IKEA and no Arm's Reach Cosleeper this time. He hated our old one.

He was very adamant about which stroller we got. He likes to look at clothes. He has gone shopping with me a bunch but when it comes to things like bottles, pacifiers etc. he doesn’t seem to really care. lol

Ughh, yeah. Thats just men for you IMO. My DH has NO interest in baby things (just whatever is cheapest LOL). My dad is the same way.

This makes me feel so much better. All the other fathers in our Bradley Class have been super involved in these types of decisions. After class they sit and discuss why they bought what. My hubby has missed over half he classes for lousy reasons and hasn't helped with one decision or purchase. I was really upset about it, cried about it, and even got in a fight with him about it. While I still wish his attendance had been better for our classes, I've realized that getting to make all of the decisions about baby supplies on my own has been a lot easier. He hasn't complained about anything I've bought. I guess he trusts my judgement. Glad to know he's more the norm than the exception.
