What do you consider a good/bad credit score?
When it comes to credit and making big purchases, what do you consider to be a good/bad credit score? I'm not really talking about a GREAT credit score, just good enough to where it won't hurt your chances of getting the big purchases (houses, cars etc). I've heard different people say different numbers so I'm wondering what you ladies would feel comfortable having your credit at without needing to really make it better. If that makes sense

We bought a car recently and they told us 620 used to be good but now it is closer to 680.

Not sure on low end for the lowest but 300 & under bad to me. We both have 700 plus so it helped us lot on house & all.

Re: What do you consider a good/bad credit score?
We just bought a house and the minimum score that they would lend at was 640. I think greater than 700 is ideal, though.

Re: What do you consider a good/bad credit score?
were you watching sister wives too?
I have been told mid 600's at least. More important than the actual number nowadays is your payment histories. You could have a score under 600 but still have no trouble getting loans if your payment history is/has been clean for at least a yr or more. That's what the loan officer told us when we asked about applying for a home loan.

Re: What do you consider a good/bad credit score?
I would say over 700. We bought a house and had to have above 640 and that was for FHA. That is the easiest of the mortgage loans to get.

So it's seeming 640 and above but ideally 700+ is generally what people like. Good to know! With the economy lately you just never really know what people are considering good and bad nowadays.
