What in the world is this rash?

Okay about 3-4 days ago i noticed about a quarter size rash just under the top of my pant waistband.It was slightly red and alittle itchy but other then that did not bother me at all.

Now today its about 4 times the size of what it used to be very dark red,very dry feeling and burns when i move.My skin feels like deep ripples and theres white flakey looking skin in the middle of the rash.

Me and my husband were looking at in bed trying to figure out what caused it and could not think of anything or what the rash is so i climbed out of bed and said i was going to come ask you guys

Its alot more red in person so what caused it? any ideas?

I kind of thought maybe it was my laundry soap but i have been using the same laundry soap for at least 8 months.Also i thought if it was a reaction to laundry soap it would not just be in one spot?.I dont have any STDs and neither does my husband so it cant be a STD outbreak of any sort..so i am really confused.I planned on maybe going to the walk in clinic if theres no signs of improvement by friday and because my husband thinks its a sign my kidneys are failing..no idea where he got that from so i am going to have it looked at here eventually.

Are rashes something that people should normally worry about? i am the type of person that usually ignores things like this and just let my body take care of it..unless i am in pain or things just look infected.

Okay TMI, I've had rashes in that area and it was always caused by yeast. BUT, I'm overweight so it does get moister in that area. I can't give you any real idea because I can't see the pic but that's the first thing that popped into my head. It always gets sore, itchy, and a little smelly. Sorry, TMI I know.

Yeah, id need to see a pic to get a better idea. it could be a number of things. Burning and tingling and white flakey ness reminds me of a shingles patch, but yeast is also an option.
I would also imagine if your kidneys were failing you would have more signs then just a small rash. retaining water in your ankels/hands, urine issues, back pain ect.

Does it help to put hydrocortisone/benedryll on it?

I can't see the pic either, but you're close to me and another post reminded me that I heard on the radio this morning (in the Timmies drive-thru lol) that there are a lot of pharmacies giving vaccines for shingles...

I'd have to google, but I'm in AB, so maybe there's more than usual this year??

Its alot more red in person and theres almost like white looking dead skin going across it with deep indents.It burns when i touch it and feels like its ripping apart when i move around in bed.

Just took this 5 minutes ago without the flash in my bathroom which has the best lighting.I have not put anything on it yet to treat it as i am unsure what to buy? was going to go to a walk in clinic tommrow but got called in to work so i am going monday for sure.
