I stole this from another ddc.

Take some baking soda, add some of your pee....
BOY: fizzes/foams
GIRL: no reaction

You are suppose to wait until you reach 10 weeks to do the test. I tried it at 6 weeks and had lots of fizzing.

Today, I am 10 weeks 2 days and I tried it again and had a totally different reaction: no reaction. I tried it twice with two different pees and there was no reaction on either.

So, at this point I'm having a girl according to the baking soda prediction test.

Anyone else want to try it?

Fizzed like beer both times.

ETA: fizzed this pregnancy- never tried it last pregnancies

I found the more concentrated the urine the more it fizzies. It's done both for me.

My urine ws pretty concentrated when I tried it and there was no reaction. Gonna try it again next week and see if there is a different reaction.

Does it require a certain amount of pee and baking soda? Say an ounce of pee and 1 tsp of baking soda or does it not matter? I am 11 weeks and willing to try it.

I just tried this and had no fizzing or anything. I will be 9 weeks tomorrow. This one (for now) says girl.

"What you do is put a little bit of baking soda in the bottom of a disposable cup and then add a little bit of your urine to it. If it fizzles like a soda pop, it may be a boy. If there’s no fizzle, it may be a girl. This method was used by several members as a way to test the accuracy of their gender ultrasounds and out of 31 baking soda tests, 22 were right and 9 were wrong."

It requires you to be over 10 weeks though.

Well I am 11 weeks and last night it said girl and this morning it said boy. Guess it was covering all the bases, lol.
