What lingo do you teach your LO for their private parts?

My 1 year old is fascinated with knowing parts of the body and her language has just been multiplying like crazy. So we're going to have to name ALL the parts pretty soon. What did you teach your little one for penis/vagina/butt/breasts?

I like the idea of using the anatomical terminology, but seems like it might make for some awkward moments during toddlerhood. And seems like the older generation is more modest about this sort of thing, will it make grandma blush?

We just teach them the proper terms, although we do say bottom or bum instead of butt.

We use penis/vagina/butt/breasts.

Really, I thought it would be super awkward, but it isn't. If you make it awkward, it will be...if you say the words just like you're saying finger or hair, the kids don't think twice about it. I can't say it won't make grandma blush, but to me that's just an added bonus.

Penis/vagina/butt/breasts, although breasts are boobies when DD is nursing and DS has picked up on that, he also calls them hoo-hoos sometimes.

My mom was changing DS's diaper the other day and he grabbed his penis and was all "Hey Nam, look, it's my PENIS! It's a coooool PENIS! Nam, I weally wuv my PENIS, Papa have a PENIS too! Nam, you have a PENIS?" I thought she was going to faint.

I teach my son proper terms. At first, since I didn't grow up with proper terms, it was weird. Now it's just second nature. He'll pick up slang terms eventually I'm sure, but I'd rather he be comfortable with proper terms to start.

We started off with Who-who and Wee-wee but now that my children are older we call them by the proper name with the exclusion of butt, which we call our bottom or behind.

DD is almost two. I decided - and then told DH, who nearly fainted - that we could continue to use butt/bottom, but "lady parts" shall henceforth be "vulva." Bc technically, the part that she's talking about, is her vulva. When we need to differentiate, we will expand to vagina, etc. i sold dh on it by saying that its so much easier to be specific if something goes wrong - "he touched my lady parts/vagina/vulva could all mean different things. God forbid we ever need this info, but it is important to me. I grew up calling boobs maguffies -idk WHERE that came from - and penises peanuts. I was so embarrassed when i fpund out thats not what everyone calls them

Penis, vagina, butt/booty, breasts are boobies here because that's just what we called nursing for both girls..."boobie." My 2 year old pronounces them "giney" & "peanuts" though. But at least we've given her the mostly proper terms.

Agree with pp's, anatomical terms. Butt/Booty is technically slang though...I wonder what the proper word would be...derrierre?
