Wow. My midwife only charges $1800 for all the prenatal and post natal visits (in home) plus the birth.

Re: homebirth?
Had DS in the hospital, DD at home in a birthing tub, DD2 at the birthing center in a tub, and planning on having this LO at the birthing center as well (cheaper for us to head there than for my midwife to travel here). Our midwives here in Idaho charge $5100. Had to raise their rates from last year (when we had DD2). Still, way cheaper than the hospital or even the OB rates!

Re: homebirth?
I'm hoping for a water birth! Either in the local birthing center or at home, depending on some factors. I'm SOOOO excited. I had a preterm induction in the hospital with my twins after spending two weeks on hospital bed rest with ruptured membranes (PPROM). So, it is easy to improve upon that experience I think.

Re: homebirth?
I'm planning a home birth with midwives here in three weeks, give or take. Super excited, as its our 6th baby and will be our 1st out of hospital birth.
Definitely looking forward to a few aspects in particular: (1) no one ever walking out of the room with my baby. (2) being able to rest, rest, rest with no one wakin me up all hours of the night to check pulse, blah blah. Just let me sleep!! (3) being able to give birth in whatever position feels right in the moment. ![]()

Re: homebirth?
And ours was $2600 or $2800. We can't quite remember now. We're in the DFW area in Texas.
