I am going to buy flats to pad fold (make into inserts actually) and stuff in BG 4.0s!! Which are the softest, TRIMMEST, MOST ABSORBANT? I am open to any fabric, not just birdseye, as long as they fit the above categories. Trim is really important to me. Any suggestions?!

Also, would you say that a flat is more absorbent than a prefold a or microfiber? How long can your babies make it in a flat when its pad folded? What about folded the other ways?!

I've only tried a few brands, but blueberry bamboo is soft, trimmer than my smaller cotton flats, and waaaay more absorbent.

I've experimented with my cotton flats vs indian prefolds, the flats were more absorbent and definitely trimmer. I've not tried it with MF inserts though.

I have a ton of Osocozy unbleached flats and I find them to be trimmer and as absorbent as prefolds. I love flats because they are so easy to get clean.

Blueberry Bamboo flats are both soft and trim. I have always found birdseye flats to be trimmer and more absorbent than birdseye prefolds in general.

Geffen hemp jersey is a slightly smaller cut, way soft, and about as thin as a piece of construction paper. Plus, they're jersey, so they stretch. Would make great PFs on a smaller baby. I use them as inserts and they are alot thinner and more comfortable feeling then the hemp babies.
