Stinky diapers

My diapers smell aweful as soon as baby pees in them. Not out of washer they smell great but even when baby is still wearing them if there is pee in it the smell is offensive! What is going on and how do I fix it? Please help!

Re: Stinky diapers

Bleach in the wash.
There is a buildup pf bacteria on your diapers. The smell you are smelling is ammonia.

Yes you can bleach. That should helpp for now but going forward I would take a look at your wash routine that is not getting them clean in the first place. What detergent are you using? How much and what is your wash routine?

I use all free and clear, i wash every other day. Cold rinse, warm wash, warm rinse, extra rinse. I dry my microfiber inserts on high and hang dry my diapers

Try doing a warm first rinse, warm water is better at breaking up and rinsing away urine and yuckies. I have no issues with a warm first rinse setting stains. Also definitely recommend doing a hot wash with detergent vs. warm. If this doesn't help, try adding a bit of bleach (1/4c) to your wash cycle and if that doesnt help, try switching to a different detergent. Good luck!
