2 week old, cloth too bulky!
I'm new to cloth diapering, and just starting out with prefolds and prowraps on my 2 week old, but it's too bulky! She looks like an astonaut baby. I'm getting discouraged...

Re: 2 week old, cloth too bulky!
What are you using? Lots of mamas here use newborn diapers and then one sized since most diapers are just too much for little babes. Prefolds are often bulky on newbies, especially if you aren't using sized ones, but babies grow so quickly that it gets better! Certain fibers are also less bulky, like hemp or bamboo. Hang in there!

Prefolds are not the trimmest option. Are you trifolding or fastening? Do you have sized pfs?

Re: 2 week old, cloth too bulky!
Prefolds are bulky. Im new to cd myself. My lo was born in October and I had to hold off on prefolds until she was a bit older. Would could try flats or maybe sized aio. I really liked bgs xs and lil joey's. Hang in there.

Re: 2 week old, cloth too bulky!
I agree with the others. Try something like a sized aio. To me all cloth is bulky, honestly. We have always had to size up on our kids' clothes. Clothes are made for disposables. I mean we don't mind the look of it but it's always going to be bulkier than a paper diaper no matter what. On newborns it looks especially big. You may just have to wait it out.

All cloth is bulky. It's not supposed to look or fit like a disposable. You'll get used to it.

For outfits that need a trimmer bottom I use either Charlie bananas or SoftBums with flats.

I liked Grovia newborn diapers. I didn't fine them too bulky although with how quickly my baby grew out of them I probably would have just done more size 1 Thirsties pockets.

Re: 2 week old, cloth too bulky!
The first few weeks are challenging. In a week or 2 things will be fitting a lot better.

Re: 2 week old, cloth too bulky!
That is why I did AIOs this time around. I did prefolds and covers for my two babies before this last one and prefolds on a little baby are bulky. They just are. So this time I think she wore a prefold like once
