Re: cold turkey or gradual weaning?
DD turned 2 in September, and I'm ready to wean now too. For about 6 months, I haven't been offering, but I don't refuse either (except her night time feedings). DD is down to about 2 sessions a day, and most of it is for comfort. The hardest feeding to drop was her night time feedings and nursing her to sleep. I'm still waver a bit with the night time feedings because we co-sleep. We compromised with nursing to sleep. I would nurse her imediately before turning out the light. It took her a week of screaming protesting to adapt. When she's not sick, she's okay with it now.
Now that I'm down to 2 sessions a day, I think I'll need to go cold turkey in order to wean completely. I just need to find a window where DD isn't sick with cold. Good luck
