My New Year's fireworks were all the colors of the rainbow! |
Re: Self-initiated potty trips will be a long time coming.
He told me Wednesday and yesterday that he needed to go, too, but then I got lazy this morning and he had a wet pull-up (but hey, at least it wasn't poopy, lol). Guess I'll keep prompting a little here and there.

Re: Self-initiated potty trips will be a long time coming.
my daughter turned 3 in decemeber and she finally just grasped pooping on the potty this past month. it took me catching her in the middle of pooping and putting her on the potty to understand the feeling of pooping while sitting. She had always just gone standing up in her diaper or pull-up. Once she understood the feeling and how to make the same muscles work sitting down its gone awesome. We reward only poop with some chocolate, she's been able to pee on the potty since December. Now we only have an accident maybe every other week. We did start potty training "late" we did alot of traveling and moving from July through November and I wasn't about to try and potty train while driving across the country.

Re: Self-initiated potty trips will be a long time coming.
Don't stress, he'll get the hang of it eventually. My son was lazy, always waiting for me to take him, not caring if he was wet or poopy. We really had to drill it in that he needed to 'Listen to your body and say 'Potty'. We made up rhymes and songs to help him remember his job: "You got to KNOW when to GO (know when to go). So stop what you're doing and RUN to the potty...GO GO GO." and "Say potty, go potty...stay dry. Yay!"
If you're having another baby you might want to be prepared for setbacks in PL...he'll be stressed about the new arrival and will be looking for attention. |
